Welcome

Welcome to Lisa's Tabletop Concoctions Blog

My name is  Lisa M. White and I'm a certified personal trainer (CPT), fitness consultant and posing coach. I am also a health and wellness and fitness freelance writer. I love what I do, and to say that I'm a fitness enthusiast is an understatement. When I'm not writing about working out; I am working out. I am a sure-fire gym rat who loves to weight train, and am a natural figure athlete. But as a surprise to many, I also love food. I mean love food. I love the smell and textures of great food, and I love to eat and cook and do both pretty well.

Living all over the world introduced me to foods on new levels. My Korean mother always had an array of foods at our house to try, as well. It was very common to find a table of fried chicken, mashed potatoes & gravy with green beans served with kimchi, beans sprouts, rice and spicy fish.

Welcome
My love of food and cooking goes as far back as I can remember and there is nothing better than eating a home cooked meal with my family.

Because of this passion for food, I admit that I don't always eat clean, especially in the bodybuilding off season. I do not hide this from my personal training clients or in my writing. There are no claims to perfection about my eating habits because that would be a lie.

Clean eating is healthy, but I do indulge in other foods. I also love kitchenware and decor that makes a kitchen noteworthy of cooking.

At Tabletop Concoctions you'll find numerous posts about food, kitchenware, product reviews, cooking tips and easy recipes. Not all recipes are homemade, but  they will have  a twist to add to the flavor. I see no sense in reinventing the wheel.

A forewarning; not all of the recipes are healthy, and some will not be fat free or low in carbohydrates. They are very tasty though. On the other hand, some recipes have heart healthy ingredient substitutions when possible.

If you're wondering "How can she tell people to work out and eat clean when she doesn't?" I completely see where you are coming from. In my case, I weight train very hard, all year long.  My bodybuilding competition endeavors require restrictive dieting, but in life away from the stage I don't believe in diets. I do believe that moderation is the key, and everyone should enjoy the food around them.

Salut!
